Storing up!

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8

Pray for me as I begin a new journey, a new way of life. God has been speaking to my heart about storing up for times of famine.
Our life these days is filled with business and chaos, and as a stay at home wife and mom, it is my responsibility to find a solution. It is my responsibility to find a way to save time and relieve stress. God has given me one solution.
Yesterday I went out on a mission, to purchase and store up all the food we would need to live on for a month. (Minus an extra trip or two to restock on perishables that we may need) my goal is to get to where I have an entire month long menu of suppers, and enough breakfast and lunch food to get us through the month. Also, I’ve been researching freezer/crockpot meals and meals that can be made in 20 mins or less.
Many times our family finds ourselves in a time crunch, with very little time to fix a meal. Often this leads to a quick run to fast food or little Caesars pizza. The dollars spent really adds up when you have a small budget like ours. I’m praying that this will be a solution and a breath of fresh air for our family.
Also, for those moms with 2 or more small children, I’m sure you can relate to the stress and chaos it is to try and go grocery shopping. Often I’d find myself just standing in the isle, staring blankly at my list, just listening to the cries and wails around me, just wanting to join in…
So last month I quit. I gave up my way of life. I decided it was time for a change. So now I will aim to go alone, or during a time that daddy can take the kids to another part of the store so I can freely focus on what I’m getting.
I hope this is an encouragement and tip to other struggling moms.
